Well actually, from winning his race in the 2010 election for town selectman, it seems many of you living in Millbury have already met (and voted for) Brian.
Since political orientation can be so polarizing even to a small community like Millbury, lets toss aside whether your's aligns with his for now and look at a more important aspect. How great is it to see young, motivated people like Brian step up and try to make his lifelong hometown a better place for all of us to live in, all while doing something he loves?!?!
You don't have to be a political figure to make a difference in your community either. Think of what you are passionate about (art, music, whatever) and try to discover a way to utilize those creative juices to do something positive in the place you live. You'll not only satisfy your urge to do something you enjoy (and probably would be doing anyway) but allow your (old, new, and future) neighbors to come along for the ride! These days, the time you have to do what you really want to do is preciously slim. You might as well make the most of it!
You never know. You might just be taking the first step of a new career as Brian did.
